 Saturday, July 19, 200818 July 2008, Friday Semi Finals: NJC v MJC (Gals) Result: 1-5 (0-0, 1-3, 0-2) We went into the game with a different strategy today against the defending champions. The game plan went well for most of the game and we did manage to keep them at bay in the 1st period. However, the opponent's superior speed, aggression and technical-ability proved to much for us to handle from the 2nd period, and we eventually crumpled and fell off the competition. Overall, it was a battle lost to a well-prepared and well-trained squad. Goal scorer: Mer (1) Assist: NIL Man of the Match: Reethie Reethie has contributed significantly in defense to help neutralised the opponent's attack. Even when faced with the strongest players from the opposite camp for most of the game, she did not give up on her chase for the ball. She went in for double-teams diligently and has cut off several ball supplies to their forwards. Her fitness training has well-paid off today and more importantly, she has grown out of her usual self to be a strong player on court. Special mention: Cat, Mer, Pris Mer - For scoring her 1st goal of the season and great fighting spirit throughout the whole game. Cat - She has done well to neutralise the MJC's captain's move for most of the game. She only scored against Line 3 once through a counter-attack. Pris - She has kept her line's defence consistently tight.
